"Hopkins Public Schools social workers are very thankful for the healthy snacks provided by ICA Foodshelf! For many of our students, the only healthy food they get is at school.  For growing adolescents, sometimes the free/reduced meals they get at school can leave them hungry.  Also, many of our students don't meet the restrictive criteria for free/reduced lunch, and they cannot afford to buy extra food at school.  Having these snacks from ICA available when the social workers meet with students is a nice enhancement to their nutrition.  We have also used the snacks in the nurse's office for students who cannot take medication on an empty stomach.  Additional support stuaff who work with students impacted by poverty have access to the snacks as well.  Thank you to our friends at ICA Foodshelf for your nutritional support of our students!  It really makes a difference." - Lisa Ashley, Hopkins High School Social Worker
