ICA volunteers are the key ingredient!
Volunteers are a crucial part of every program at ICA Food Shelf. The dedicated hearts and hands of the community help us complete the countless tasks that go into providing food for more than 5,000 people every year. As a Food Shelf volunteer, you'll experience endless opportunities to learn, grow, and play a rewarding role in addressing hunger in your neighborhood.

Who can volunteer?
ICA Food Shelf relies on a diverse range of individuals and volunteer groups.
Our volunteers include individuals, families, students, retirees, senior citizens, corporate groups, religious organizations, school groups, and many others who help us serve our neighbors.
The minimum age to volunteer is 12; anyone 15 or younger must be accompanied by an adult. Volunteers must be at least 16 years old in order to work with ICA clients.
Families and children under age 15 can also volunteer at many ICA events, including the annual Postal Drive in May, Tour de Tonka in August, the biannual Big Island & Back! events, Bagging for Tips, the November Holiday Meal Giveaway, and many more. Please check out our events page for current opportunities.
