March Campaign
It’s March and that means it’s time for the annual Minnesota FoodShare March Campaign! This month is so important to ICA—it’s one of our biggest for food and fund drives. We rely on the food and funds collected during this month to get us through the next few months of operations. We also received additional matched funds from Minnesota FoodShare based on how much we raise. The more we raise, the more we receive. Here’s how you can get involved:
Donate now! Please consider making a gift to ICA this month! Every dollar makes a difference, and ICA uses your dollars well! We were recently recognized as a Four Star Charity by Charity Navigator, and we Meet Standards as recognized by the Charities Review Council.
Host a food drive: at your workplace, school, congregation, or community organization.
Host a fund drive: Raising funds for ICA is a great team-building feel-good activity. ICA can purchase up to ten times the amount of food with your dollars!
Interested in getting involved in another way? Have questions? Please contact Maggie at 952.279.0292 or maggie@icafoodshelf.org

Minnesota FoodShare's March Campaign
Traditionally in the month of March, Minnesota food shelves see a decrease in food and monetary donations, but not a decrease in need for services. Join us throughout March in this statewide effort to increase donations by hosting a food drive at your school, workplace, or congregation. We have resources to provide to ensure you have a successful drive - let us know how we can assist you!
Email Kristin@icafoodshelf.org to register your food drive or for any questions.

National Night Out/ Minnetonka Night for Neighbors
What is National Night Out?
National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live. National Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community. Furthermore, it provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances.
Millions of neighbors take part in National Night Out across thousands of communities from all fifty states, U.S. territories, Canadian cities, and military bases worldwide on the first Tuesday in August (Texas celebrates on the first Tuesday in October). Neighborhoods host block parties, festivals, parades, cookouts and various other community events with safety demonstrations, seminars, youth events, visits from emergency personnel, exhibits and much, much more
We encourage those hosting block parties to include a food drive with their event. We typically have a prize for the neighborhood that collects the most food for ICA! Donations can be dropped off at our K-Tel location the following day during business hours.
Volunteers Needed!
We need extra volunteers on Wednesday, August 2 to help accept incoming food donations. Please contact Rebecca if you are interested!
